Going to buy a new tank 220 I'm debating wether to get a glass tank or an acrylic bow front I've been researching a lot and would like to hear your thoughts/opinions wether to which is
A. More reliable(last longer/harder to break in case in accident)
B. Looks nicer
C.easier to maintain
Thnx

Acrylic for b and glass for a and c. Acrylic will scratch a lot easier than glass will and it will have to be buffed out. Acrylic is 17 times stronger than glass and half the weight.

Acrylic for A & B.
Glass for C.

I trust an acrylic weld over silicone any day and the clarity is much better than glass (although, low iron "Starfire" glass might come close)...but the downside of acrylic is that it does scratch pretty easily and although you can buff them out, it's a royal PITA.

On anything over 55G, I like acrylic.

Thanks guys well I was thinking of adding some sort of screen protecter to the front of the tank that way I won't have to worry about scratches?

Scratches will typically occur when you are cleaning algae off of the interior of the tank so a screen on the outside isn't going to help. As long as you use an acrylic safe pad and are extra careful when scrubbing near the substrate, you should be fine.

I really like acrylic, light weigh, super strong, and look great as well.

I was also looking to replace all my glass tanks with acrylic I have a 60g were my red wolf is in,I was thinking of a brand new 75 acrylic tank(with lids, stand,& light fixture, setup basically)
Would $450.00 be a good price
I just want to replace my 4 glass tanks with acrylic ??
I just like that 3d look the acrylic bow fronts give you :)

Acrylic for all of the above. It does scratch easier, but can also be buffed out, even with fish still in it. Glass scratches too. Not as easily, but once it happens, you're pretty much stuck with it. Lighter, retains heat better and clearer unless you go with starphire.....
