my smallest of my rbp's was swimming around the tank yesterday at his top speed all day, and when he stopped swimming he would just swim on his side. then later he was found just lying there still breathing but on his side on the substrate.

Remove him from the shoal and put him in his own tank, and raise the temperature a bit.
This way the other RBPs wont remove him, and any problems with him are isolated.
An expert will come on here soon with an exact diagnosis.
Good luck
