is there such thing as an active species of plecos?

are any plecos more active than others?

All the different types I've owned are the same. For more active plecos you are better watching with the lights out or go with some moonlights.

By nature most plecs are nocturnal. From my experience my Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps and Hypostomus cochliodon are the most active. Larger plecs tend to be more active compared to smaller ones. But its all down to the individual plec, all you can do is provide an environment where it doesnt feel scared.

I have had my common since it was about 1'' and he comes out all the time. Like matubula said its probably when they feel safe.

yea i think that it just depends on the indivual nature of the pleco

For me it's always been any Pterygoplichthys except for the albino chocolates
