Quarantine Tank
At my local store there is a very active yet slightly damaged bichir (fins are alittle nipped). I have seen him there for about 3 weeks now. I am considering buying it, but my question is, can I count on this bichir having the same level of activity in my tank?

There are two other oscars on the tank and another bichir, so i am wondering if maybe its just that he is always hungry or perhaps stressed or what??? I dont know to much about bichirs but have always wanted one.

Any info would be gr8. :)

i dont really know about mixing bichirs i have one but im gonna get another. but i think u need to keep them well fed to be peaceful i dont know so im sorry but i know other people who keep multy in there tanks so they would be best

if its a grey colored (senegal) bichir its gonna stay pretty active when you add to your tank and the fins will heal with time and regular water changes

The fins should heal just fine and if it active there once its settled in at home the activity level should be about the same. What species do you know?Attached is a pic of an adult P.senegalus senegalus they reach10-12 inches any questions feel free to ask i know a lil about em -Anne

i agree but the injury dosnt sound that bad

Injury isnt that bad at all, nothing I havent seen a fish recover from. Besides, if I don't save it who will???
