actual clown knife size

Hi guys:)

Not sure if anyone here has seen my thread on the arowana side but i was looking at rescuing a silver arrowana and putting it in my 475g tank. When i got to the guys house i saw a 22inch golden clown knife and a 20inch standard clown knife. The one looked healthy but the golden has terrible gill curl. I felt really bad for them and brought them home instead of the arrowana. They are doing well in my tank and seem very happy. However i have been doing allot of research and have seen allot of sites saying that these fish grow into 36 to 40 inch monsters yet have not seen any this size in aquaria. What is a realistic size for my two big boys to grow to and would the 475g tank be good for life ?, it is a big upgrade from the 200 they were in before !

They usually max out at about 28" in home aquaria...40-48 inches is what they get in the wild. & yes, the 475g should be good for life. You should post pics of them man, would love to see. Good job on rescuing them...hopefully their growth aint stunted...too bad you didn't get that aro you wanted though


This part of the forum is very dead I've noticed, next time you should try posting in the "General Aquaria Discussion" part of the website...you'll get answers there much faster probably :)
