You could work for the department of fish and wildlife. I had an environmental science teacher who started off there. He liked it, but I guess he likes teaching more. You can find whatever information you need on this occupation if you google it. Go to a .gov site to get accurate information.

You can collect Wild fish and sell them or breed them and make money that way. There are tons of ways you can have a job in the hobby.

just go to your local division of wildlife or whatever its called in your state or go to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources page. you can also contact local private hatcheries and consultation firms or your local Federal Fish and Wildlife Service.

i got a fishery biology bachelor's degree and work at a hatchery and for fish transportation for the CO division of wildlife. i started off by volunteering for them in high school and then did temporary jobs throughout the summer until i got hired on permanently. it's not exactly the area i wanted to be in, but its more of getting your foot in the door and getting to know people and how the agency works. "It's not what you know, it's who you know."
