I am setting up a 2 feet tank, and intending to put ADA amazonia II substrate about 1.5 inch thick..
How strong they are in lowering the pH?
I have not test my tap water pH yet, Lets say it is 7.0, what will I get when it is in the tank with the amazonia?? any idea?

Maybe a few driftwood will be in there too..

Apparently, I just want a black nice looking substrate..

im sure it will tell you anywhere that its specs are listed aka online or on the bag

It is for planted tank...
do you know any other substrate that has the similiar appearance & ability like ADA Amazonia?

None have the buffering capacity of ADA soil. Seachem's Flourite black sand or dark sand both will look similar. For a planted tank, you will need much thicker substrate. You should have at least 3", I personally use 4" in smaller tanks and 6" in larger tanks.
