Hi folks,
I have a stable 75g with a female paratilapia pollleni and 3 Senegal bichirs. I decided to add a 6" black belt cichlid and a 5" Cuban cichlid. So far, the pollleni has kind of been hassling the newcomers so I put in a temp divider to let things settle. Anybody have thoughts on what I should expect ? Any experience with these cichlids?
Thanks.

That tank might hold them for now, black belts get fairly large. I really wouldn't even keep a single specimen in a 75g you may want to start planning for a larger tank. Cubans can also reach 10"+ and can be very aggressive.

Here's an update. Initially the polleni didn't seem to mind the cuban, but took issue with the black belt, and started chasing him around. I put in a divider for a while to let the new guys acclimate.

Today I re-scaped and removed the divider. The polleni went back to hassling the BB -- so I started to get worried again -- but then I noticed that the BB was hassling the cuban and now am wondering if the polleni is just being tank boss and trying to establish some peace. Towards the end of the day, they had all found separate areas to occupy peacefully, so I'm thinking there's a chance things will work out.

Thanks for the comments. I'll try to post some pics tomorrow.

your gonna need a bigger tank.....

Yea, I can see how I would need to upgrade....For some reason the polleni and cuban seem ok, so I'm thinking about seeing if I can return the black belt....

a good choice , I have a bb in a 75 with a con and a raphael cat and thats pretty crowded ...and the bb is only about 9 in....he's gonna get a lot bigger I think..

i have seen some BB returned to LFS that were 12 inch+,bulky and tall growing fish.also i have found that fish under 6 inches, have not developed their full personality.later can change,as they mature, usually needing more tank space and maybe seemed ok with a tankmate, then just decided no more
