I am going to add 3 2" rotkeils to my 20 long grow out tomorrow where they will be for the next 2-3 days while I finish the plumbing on the 75 where they will grow out for the next few months unless they outgrow it sooner. Anyway, I know they're small but I'm essentially doubling/tripling the bio load on the tank and there's not much water in a 20 to dilute ammo. Tank is currently holding a 2ish" chocolate cichlid.

Should I put some stability in there to help boost the cycle a bit? I have a large sponge in there and an aqueon 30 packed with ceramic rings so there should be plenty of media for more bacteria to proliferate. I was planning on just dosing with prime to keep the ammo bound up and doing daily water changes until the cycle increases but I'm thinking the stability might make life a bit easier if it actually works? Any thoughts on the stuff?

Stability works... I cycled my very first, overstocked, 20 long with it. You will need to add it to the tank. I put my breeder pair of Angels in my 210 after I bought them to showcase with the others while my grandmother is visiting. I was only going to leave them in until she left, but they got aggressive much earlier than I thought they would. I went ahead and put them in my 20 gallon after moving the Betta and putting him in the 3 gallon but I noticed that the ammonia had risen to 0.1 within a few hours of them being there... There was only enough bacteria in that filter to support my Betta. In the end I put the pair back in my 210 with a divider and now they have a 2 x 2 x 2 foot space to themselves while I get the 20 gallon ready.

Thank you I will run out and grab a bottle before I add the new guys tomorrow and give it a whirl. Tank is well cycled for the one fish so I do have a good colony of bacteria going just not enough for all the new ones.
