I have a 180g tank which currently doesn't have a background on. It had one but it began to bubble and peel away. So i took it off. The tank is against a wall with about 2" of space down the back. Does anyone have any suggestions of how i can attach the background with out emptying and moving the tank? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Nobody?

2" of space isn't a lot to work with..hard to even get a hand back there to tape a background on the ends...

Im in the UK so the designs by nature wouldnt be any good. Besides, could i add a 3d background without removing water?

Anyone else have any ideas, because it's really bugging me!

hi i had the same problem a while back,
if you just want to attach a normal one again...
totally cover the background with baby oil,
attach it to the back as best you can and then use something to rub the air bubbles out of the oil ( dry paint roller or something similar).

Another way is to paint some cardboard and 'hang' it from the back of the tank or tape it on if you can,

random i know :)

hope this helps
cheers

if you want u cant try to paint it wid blue black or what evercolour u like

I think if it were me I would either find a nice preprinted backdrop (or just pick a plain paint color) and attach it to either a piece of cardboard, cloroplast, or thin plywood. Then drop it down from above or slip it in from the side (whichever you have room for) so it sits behind the tank. I would then either screw to the house wall or if thats not realistic would try to make up some wedges to tap in between the wall and the back of the plywood forcing the backdrop to be pressed up against your tank....
Would any of these ideas help at all?

Thanks everyone. I had though of some of these ideas previously. But i think my plan will be to: get a piece of plywood, or plastic of the dimensions of 6x2 and stick the background to that (plain black) then grease the back of the tank with baby oil? And wedge the two together using blocks to push the board away from the wall and onto the tank. Fingers crossed!
