My LFS has a 18" or so fire eel that was recently brought into them and I've always wanted one, do you think that there is any chance that my jag would allow it to share his water? I've only tried keeping an oscar with him before and that did not turn out well.

in a 125 you have a pretty good chance it will help if the eel is alot bigger then the jag

you should be okay if the eel is at least 6" longer than the jag. (according to your sig it is) Make sure you have hiding places that only the eel can get into. (pvc pipe etc...)
If it gets ruff, just sell the eel to me. :D
You may have to switch from gravel to sand so the eel can dig without hurting itself.

I agree but just keep in mind that the jag has a big ole basket mouth and could easaly fit a eel head in there:grinno: but i would give it a try.

I have a tire track eel with my jag but my jag is also smaller like they dont even seem to notice each other

Thanks for the replies, I'm gonna try to see if I can get the LFS down some in price.

bury some pipe under the gravel with the ends sticking out then the jag wouldnt be able to get to it and a bit of slate with a gap underneath these are both goood hiding places for fire eels.
