Hi everyone. I am almost done restocking my 120 gallon tank, but I still want to add a pike. So far, I have a female festae and a green terror. All fish are under 5 inches. I also plan to add a catfish or two. As for a Pike, I had originally planned to add a lenticulata, but I have been looking into some of the other species out there. I am still interested in lents, but would like to see some other options. So what kind of pike would you guys recommend for my tank? I am looking for something in the 10-14" range that would be compatible with my other fish.

Johanna or strigatta.

Since you could be waiting a long time for a Xingu II, Lents and Marmorattas are very attractive. Many members like the Atabapo Reds or Cobras.
Johanna as Rob said are very underated and cheap. I got mine from a lfs for 5.99 at 3". Female Xingu I are also very attractive. It really depends on your taste and $. I am sure others will way in with their likes.

There is an importer that we know that said he should be getting some xinguIIs very soon. He asked me not post his name till they arrive and he gets a positive ID. PM me if you want details shadow.

Sup man. Were you able to get anything figured out? Crenicichla lenticulata would look superb in there, but are rather pricy. George from Shark Aquariums got some NICE lents, at great prices. As well as some other pikes! ;) I suggest you give him a holla, as the sp. 'cobra' s hes got are gonna be beautiful as well.

Personally, Crenicichla acutirostris would be my first choice. The Red Terror might be a bit of a problem though. Only problem is FINDING the acutirostris. Main thing, is be patient, don't just buy a pike because you are feelin the impulse. If you wait, chances are what ever you want, WILL become available. Simple as that! ;)
