Adding a reactor to a sump

I picked up a 90 for a display in my house and it came with a 29 gallon sump. I will do the typical thing like lava rock and filter socks, as it in only a 2 chamber sump. I also have a reactor and was thinking of filling it with media to add extra biological filtration. Or should I skip the lava rocks in the sump and do like a freshwater fuge? I need the water to be crystal clear so my wife wont tell me to take it back out to the fish room lol

If you are looking for water clarity extra biological isn’t going to help with that.

You would want more mechanical like filter floss and maybe carbon to get that crystal clear water.

Agree, extra bio media really has nothing to do with water clarity.
What kind of reactor is it?
a photo might help. Without knowing, its hard to visualize what could be done
