Adding color

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
just use any wood or leaves of any tree that doesnt have medicinal, insecticide, irritant, etc. qualities

dead leaves would probably color the water faster.

Use dead and dried out leaves or wood. So you do not have to worry about any sap or anything else from a living tree.

I have about 25 oak leaves in a 10g. And the water is just barley tinted brownish. You can still see everything inside the tank very well. It looks like a tank that has not had a water change in a few years.

Yep. Dead leaves only. You could get Indian almond leaves online but more expensive than the oak leaves in your backyard. Asian countries though can obtain IAL for free easily since IAL thrives in tropical climate.

Post some pics when you can, I've never seen this "colored water" thing. good luck!

yep plain ole tannic acids.

It gives the appearance of a tank that has not had any water changed in a few years.

Awesome right?

other than "bringing fishes colors out" is there any benefit to this? also would like to see a pic. i have always tried my hardest to keep my water crystal clear
