Just seeking a little advice....I would like to have a Green Terror, Jack Dempsey, Red Devil and a Jaguar cichlid, and I'm purchasing them as all juviniles. Question is, would you start off with maybe a couple of Jack's then add the more aggressive fish later? I also intend of putting a couple Red Hooks in there as well ,and I know I'll need a much larger tank eventually if I want to keep them all together.....

All those fish won't fit in that tank as adults. Thats a bit small. Maybe if you lose the jag or red devil it would be alright. But jacks and GTs grow alot slower than RDs and Jags. I would get the biggest possible GT and Jack I could without getting mature adults. I would put them all in at the same time to because if they go in one at a time they will establish territory already and most likely kill the new ones.

Sorry I didn't read the bottom part about you getting a larger tank. My bad.

What I'm doing now....is buying the juvies...keep them together...as they grow..you can lose them off one by one until you have the one you truly want in that tank.

You can buy new tanks for the misfits! :D

I would get 2-3 JD's and GT's and let them grow and establish themselves for a couple of months. once they get to around 3-4" then I'd get a very small (1-2") red devil and jag. you can even get a couple red devils and jags. eventually you would pick out the ones that seem to get along best and trade, sell or buy new tanks for the extras.

one more thing, you're eventually going to need a very, very large tank to keep those 4 together as adults. I used to have a rather peaceful 9" midas, 6" gt and 6" JD together in a 125 and they got along ok. I had a jag with them for a while too but once the jag got to 7" he/she completely took over the tank and terrorized the other 3. once I got rid of the jag, the other 3 lived together fine for some time. none were full grown so I don't know how well they'd have done as they reached their full grown size, but they were fine for some time. I only mention all this to make sure you realize the 4 of those cichlids will probably need something like an 8' x 2' tank at least to have enough space for them to live peacefully together unless you happen across a very docile jag and red devil. :)

They should be fine for some time unless you happen to get a hyper-aggressive midas or jag. Make sure that you have plenty of territories/hiding places and give it a try if thats what you want. Just be willing to make changes if necessary and buy a larger tank in 6 - 9 months.
