hi all, i have just picked up 2 white tiger oscars thay are around 12inc i was told thay were a breeding pair but i dont know for sure. i would like to add more, the shop i picked them up from had another two orange oscars in another tank that i liked however, i know keeping a pac of cichlids is ok if the are small and grow up together (as a rule of thumb) but what about older bigger cichlids???

any advice welcome

cool thanks, i will give it a week because i have not long setup this tank and moved the fish into it!!

ok thank, i will post some picks when i have picked them up!

I'd add something like a school of Silver Dollars, maybe Feather Fins or something but contrary to popular opinion I wouldn't add another Oscar pair unless you're willing to part with 1 of the pairs if they don't get along. The tank is big enough for 4 Oscars physically but that doesn't mean it's big enough mentally.
I assumed you cycled the tank before putting fish in? (Just checking).

ok. i took all the water out of my 5x2x2 (been setup for years) and the filter (fx5) and put it into the new set up then top up with fresh water.
should be the same as doing a water change. i will keep a close eye on the water and test it often (as always)
i have not filled it right up , i plan on topping it up bit by bit.
