Hello to everybody, this is my first post on this site as i am starting to get my tank going again. I have a question that i probably already know the answer to but will ask for opinion anyways lol.

I have a 75 gallon tank and I have 1 Buttekoferi about 4" long and he has been the sole fish in this tank for about a year, I want to add more fish but I am afraid he will kill them, my thoughts were to buy bigger africans that would be able to contend with his aggressive nature and hopefully they would adapt. Or I could buy smaller africans along with some goldfish and other target fish and hope my Buttekoferie takes his aggrrsion out on the gold fish. What are your thoughts?

I would just do a small water change and mess with the scape a bit and put in normal sized fish. Usually if you break up the territory a bit, the old fish are a little less aggressive. Although I don't know how aggressive your fish is personally.
As a side note, I have read several articles that tested the theory of larger fish=more aggressive/could hold their own. A lot of that showed it didn't play anywhere near the role of specific temperament of the fish itself. Not necessarily at the species level, but that particular fish.
