adding new fish to my 180

I recently set up a 180 gallon acrylic.
its running a couple of canister filters and 2 aquaclear 110's.

I added 5 fish to it a couple of days ago..
and I tested the ammonia and nitrite levels.
they both show 0 ppm...

is that strange?
or should there have been a spike?
