adding new fish

whats the proper way on adding new fish to your new tank?

I put them in a bucket and then siphon water out of the tank into it with an air tube. Then I put them in the tank after half an hour or so.

i believe the proper way is too quarantine the fish in a single specimen tank....allow him/her to stay in the tank for a few weeks making sure he/she is disease free then you can place your fish in your community tank, but most people like me skip the quaratine part...i just place the bag in the tank and let it acclimate to the existing temp and throw in water in the bag from the tank...but that's me.

do you pour the water from the bag into your tank? or just scoop the fish out with a net, so you dont pour the LFS water in your tank

You never pour lfs water into your tank, always scoop the fish out so you can avoid introducing chemicals and diseases in to your tank.
