I have a 75 Gallon freshwater tank with mostly bottom dwellers.

Now, I found a nice big smooth stone in my friends yard today and I was thinking of putting it in the tank to add to the terrain.

Are there any risks to adding rocks like there might be with driftwood? (As far as chemicals and the like go.)

as long as you clean the rock properly., you won't have any problem.,

It's a really smooth pond stone, it doesn't seem like anything'll be released out of it but I'll make sure to clean it anyway, thanks.

do the test . put some vinager on it . if it fizzes then it is not tank safe .
but yeah a good scrub then soak in boiling water or a weak bleach solution then rinse of a few times and you should be good .

Thanks, I tried it and nothing happened. Putting it in as we speak.
