....pour in the bag and your done

So i added 3 5lbs bags of Aqua Terra aquarium sand to my oscars tank. I didnt soak the sand b4 i put it in and i now have sand balls at the top of the water...

luckily i have 3 oscars that think its food...all the sand on top should be gone soon.

I thought it was funny :D

sand balls???? hmmmm i recently put sand and took the gravel out of my oscar tank and that didnt happen to mine...could it be that play sand is much different....it is funny seeing them covered in it and them shaking it off of their heads lol

Before I fill the tank with water I line the substrate with the cardboard from a case of Corona - helps to slowly soak the substrate without creating a huge cloud dust particals. Also helps keep the dust outta the filter powerhead.

That happens to me too. It's just the lighter sand particles that aren't heavy enough to break the film on the water's surface. Just poke the sand balls and they will sink.
