Hello,

Would adding a 3" delhezi bichir to a tank with a 6" payara scomb be an issue? im looking into adding 2 bichirs in today and i dont want to find out it was a wrong idea the hard way. payara currently feeds on 1" minnows.

**** I didn't take my chances, I have em divided in the tank.. hopefully one doesn't fly over and get mauled

small update and question:
so my baby del Bichirs are growing at a faster rate than my payara scomb and other inhabitants in the tank (hujeta gar and marbled gar), i believe the bichirs are now 4in and the payara and other inhabitants are still roughly the same size. when should i be able to release the two bichirs into the tank?

Fish sizes
Del bichirs (2): 4.2in
Payara Scomb: 5.8in
Hujeta Gar: 5in
Marbled Gar 5.5in

I would only add once the delhezi is like 6-7 inches and has some girth. Don't use live feeders.

I have my 6 inch ornate and 6 inch endli with my 4 inch armies.

I would wait till they are about the same size and then try....you might want to make sure the ornates dont nip at the payaras fins

mmm i think Delhezi bichirs are less aggressive from what i read on MFK. but i will definitely keep an eye out when they get released. thanks!

I am going to start training off live as soon as one of the gars eat raw shrimp or fish fillet. ive been trying to get my payara off live for the longest time but does not budge. the two baby bichirs are currently eating bloodworms, raw shrimp, and tilapia
