Cleveland, Oh.
I have 2 Synodontis eupterus that are about 1.5". Would it be safe to put them in with these cichlids, or should I let them grow more?

M. estherae
L. caeruleus
S. fryeri
L. fuelleborni
Aulonocara sp.

All are around 3", and fairly non-aggressive.

both of mine are doing great with the africans and have been there since the beginning..if the cichlids seem to grab all the food..... i throw in a couple of algae wafers that are too big for them to eat and the eupterus can work on the wafer with out the africans bothering them.. and then what ever they don't finish the cichlids will..

As long as there is some rock work for the cats to hide you should be fine. Try using a turkey baster w/ froze brine to feed directly by them. I have one that has grown a couple of inches in the last year. My Africans are big enough to eat large pellets and krill. They are at a size where they crush the food and there is plenty that gets spit out that I now don't worry about feeding the cats directly.

I have a Synodontis eupterus that is less than an inch in one of my tanks. He does fine with fish three and four inches long. Although there is 150 pounds of slate for him to hide...
