Experimenting with a new scape...in the past, I’ve added a sandfall to this 75 gal and this time, thought I’d add a pond. Just playing around with the idea. Some pics to share during the process.

That looks amazing... how did you create the pond in the middle? Just leave the space empty and let the glass refelect off the bottom?

Very cool! I can’t believe how much that looks like there’s really a pond in the tank.

That’s exactly how I made the pond...bare bottom of the tank.

Just took out a breeding colony of bristlenose plecos and I’ve had angels, discus, school of roseline barbs, cardinals in the past...Fish is secondary to the scape.

Threw in two green spotted puffers for the time being so they can eliminate the infestation of trumpet snails...they’re doing a fine job of it. About an hour out of the bag, snails were nearly gone. They’re in the substrate and the sump too but I’m amazed as to how well these guys eat away crushing the hard shell of every snail that’ll fit into their mouth. If you look closely, you can see how bad my snail problem was before the rescape:

Puffers hunting...too bad they have to go back to the lfs. They need brackish water and the salt would not be good for planted tanks. Not only that, they’re very aggressive too:
