First off here is my tank set up:

400 gallon

9" Silver Arowana
10" Silver Arowana
8" Florida Gar
8" Peacock Bass
13" Lima Shovel Nose

Thinking of adding a Barracuda to the mix. I love how they look and they are pretty mean looking. He is also 9" and eating well. What do you think of adding him in?

Oh BTW: it is a H. Scrombroides (Payara)

Looks like this guy:

Think it would work if hes anything like the scomb i used to have he was laid back. Not shure how they will do with the aggressive eating bass. Your only issue that i could see might be getting enough food to him.

A paraya? No personal experience with these fish but from what I've heard, it will kill both of your silvers definitely, possibly everything else.

a scomb could work with the aros and cat but size is the issue. it wont work with the gars they would kill it. just about every charcin wont work with a gar. the aros will out grow the scomb. if you could find an armatus it would be better but that is without a gar.

Hey i've seen Gars with Pacu(characin) in many large aquariums... So?
But i'll not try juvenile pacu because gar will surely loss there fins,..

Nope, that scomb will not go for those fish unless he can fit them in his mouth. I'd be more worried about the bass.

i had a pacu with my gars and it was about 10"-12" and it was relentless. i dont recommend them with many fish. if each were very very large then maybe, but thats why i said "just about every characin" key word here is "just". i have lots of gars and experience with gars and for all intensive purposes it wont work. i have also seen in a large aquarium scomb, raph, and i believe armatus in with piranhas, lots and lots of piranhas. i wouldn't do that but the public aquarium did. that doesn't mean it will work in a case like this.

Yeah anything can happen within a one bad day...
I have experienced piranhas with plecs, oscars, spotted snakehead without any prob, but who will know if piranhas are hungry? Hmm
