I have a 165 with a 5 in silver arowana, a ray 4in disc, and a 2in juruapri. I have two emperor 400 and a wet dry with a pump that rates At 1297 so prolly 1000gph.

Sounds fine. Generally, sump/canister filtration is 4x turnover per gallon, and HOB is 10x. Each emperor will filter 40g and the sump will cover 100g. Make sure that you have adequate media in each filter, and you should be fine for now. I would start to get worried once everything gets pretty large. That silver's gonna get huge you know, so just keep that in mind. And, from what I've read, rays are waste-heavy due to their feeding. Just keep that in mind. You will have to upgrade tanks in the future, as I am sure you know.

Yeah plan on a 290. But yes they both produce plenty of waste but I do at least a 10gal water change every day to keep my sand clean and keep from stinking.
