Adinoacara ID?

According to one of the scientific descriptions I read, the caudal and dorsal of latifrons are less extensively spotted, and iridescent spots on the flanks and belly, are more evenly distributed, whereas they form into irregular rows in pulcher.
This said, the description states" latiifrons is at present difficult to separate from pulcher, pending a comprehensive revision of the group".
Unless yours came from a shipment collected in the Magdalena region of Colombia, or ....if you got them from a LFS, pulcher is most likely.
Pulcher from Trinidad, and less remote areas of northern South America has been in the hobby, and locally bred for over a century.
They are also found in Florida where they were introduced decades ago.
If I had bought mine at a LFS, I would have had a hard time knowing for sure what species mine were, my wild caught A. coerleopunctus were caught here in Panama so ID is easy. (yet they are so variable in color, depending on mood, if feeding or not, or even time of day, that I would have a hard time using color patterns, or markings, maybe even shape, as a determiner.
