i just found out the hard way that the ph of my tap water has risen signifacantly. i believe they changed water sources recently due to the lack of rain in our area. the ph of the tap water is reading 8.2 or higher and i usually try to keep a neutral 7.0 if not slightly lower. i lost some fish recently imediately following a water change and i assume this is the reason. part of it is my fault for doing a 50% water change i know but still. does anyone know the easiest way to neutralize the new water put in during water changes? i really don't want to be messing with additional containers to treat water before adding it to the tank but i may hhave to. i know they sell those dissolving tablets that netralize ph....do you think if i added those as i filled the tank it would work quickly enough?
