He/she is lovely what size is it?, I know Adonis can get huge, a friend of mine had one around 26" a few years ago it was a stunning fish, huge but very elegant
He likes Tilapia fillet
Right now this one is close to 8", I am not that good with plecos, I somehow am not able to grow em right, this was 4-5" 18 months ago, the first 2 years I was able to grow it from 1.5"-4-5". The last 18months it has made a turn around and grown quite well, and has also been eating well.He/she is lovely what size is it?, I know Adonis can get huge, a friend of mine had one around 26" a few years ago it was a stunning fish, huge but very elegant
Yeah I have observed them lashing out at smaller tank mates, with their long pectoral fins adorned with big sharp odontodes.Love these guys, shame mine considers anything that moves as food! forever in solitary confinement (the tub)
My friend who has the large one 26" bought him at that size from a private seller from London and has had it for around four years, he doesn't think it's it's grown at all in the time he's had it, even know it lives in a massive tank and eats like a pig lolRight now this one is close to 8", I am not that good with plecos, I somehow am not able to grow em right, this was 4-5" 18 months ago, the first 2 years I was able to grow it from 1.5"-4-5". They do get big I have seen wild caught fish at 28-30" too, just recently one was bought by a hobbyist in Singapore.
But in my experience their growth is not that fast, my last specimen that I lost to a filter crash was close to 15", and it took me close to 11 years to get there.
