Most (if not all) loose their spots so some people think although the younger is more handsome, they get uglier as they get bigger (although beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and i personally like them throughout there life span). They are agressive plecs, and more and more so when they get older and older. It also is one of the carnivorous plecos so a wide range of meaty foods will be taken and have been known to rasp on the occasional veggie. Get to 24"+.
Average price. Not the best, not the worst, depends how common they are in your neck of the woods. Try and see if the UK vendors on the site can beat it

They are often about 30 pounds for small 2-3 inchers, but its not so common to find the slightly bigger specimens.

Hi

I picked one up about 6" a couple of months ago in the midlands (UK) and paid £70 so I think it is a good price. Nice fish.

In your neck of the world, it sounds reasonable. At 7" SL that is a moderate-high price here. If you have the room to house it, and the money to buy it, it would be a great pleco. Mine does rasp on veggies quite often actually, as well as lots of meat. At 7" SL he should already be losing many of his spots.

That would be a fantastic price in my area. Around here I've seen some as small as 1" sell for $45.00! A 7" adonis would probably be about $70-$80 here!

Wouldnt 80 dollars be just under 42 pounds?
