For all the Beani owners out there, I just wanted to know what you're feeding your Beani especially for an adult as well as the frequency you feed them at. I know I've read somewhere that they are potentially more prone to bloat??? I plan to own a adult in a couple of days (Thanks to Rapps :headbang2) and just wanted to see what all other owners are feeding their Beani (having no issues to date :D)

Feed a high vegetable based diet when young to prevent bloat. Once older just feed like any other cichlid.

officer d-train tennison, tell em!

Best thing is ask Rapps what he is feeding them, or what they were being fed were he got them from. I feed my wild pair Hikari only: Cichlid Bio-Gold Plus, Cichlid Excel, and Cichlid Gold. My beani fry eat the same, but I crush and powder it so it fits in their mouths. I also cycle big pcs of lava rock between the Beani Parents tank and the fry tank, so as the rock can accumilate algae and micro organisms that they can feed off of. I have never lost a beani to bloat, or any cichlid with this diet. Plus my beani breed on only this.
