Adult BGK or not?

I saw a BGK in a petshop. It was living in 20 gallon tank with dark water. I pity it a lot so I was planning to buy it. Is an 8 inch BGK an adult already?

pretty much, ive seen them bigger but 8'' is old enough to sustain imo

They average 14"-16" in captivity. Mine is currently at 11"

Mine is about 8" and I've had it for almost 2 years. Got it when it was maybe 3". great fish.

Yup yup yup. Is it ok if I put it on a 35 gallon tank first? My 250 gallon tank haven't arrive.

Will be OK.
I got two in a 65 gallon community tank and they are fine. Growing still.
You could buy it and savor its unique antics. Great fish!
