I'm considering trying my hand at a planted aquarium. I want to use my 29 gal. Please bare with me since I have NO experience with the initial setup and upkeep of a planted tank. I know what look I want but not sure on which type of plants to use and what ferts, lighting, and co2 will be needed.

BTW, my substrate is PFS and lighting is just the normal 24" flourescent. Stock consists of a few geophagus and some FW gobies. Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks
Jamie

here is a pic that is the look I'm wanting, but I would like to add some low growing grass like plant around the centerpiece and some tall growing plants in the back corners of the tank.

29 Gallon

High Tech Setup:
2x65 watts (Coralife is my choice)
Pressurized co2
Fertilizer (Macro-Micro)

Medium-Low:
1x65 watts
DIY co2
Ferts (Macro-Micro)

or you can stay with your setup right now and put some Anubias, Fern and Moss on it. The setup above is base on my 29gallon Setup

for grass like plants, i recommend Dwarf sagittaria and Giant sagittaria if you'll gonna stay with you setup since this plants are low light
