Probably some dumb questions coming from myself... But...
I have 2 common plecos(each in different tanks) would like to see them as happy as possible (think they're pretty happy now) but what are some good things to treat them with as far as food and the driftwood they prefer.
Thanks looking for some honest advice

No honest questyions are dumb :) I've never noticed that plecos care for one type of driftwood over another (someone can correct me if I'm wrong) but I have malaysian driftwood in all my tanks (I have rhino plecos, spotted sailfins, albino & normal bristlenose, etc.). That being said, my plecos very rarely hang out anywhere near the driftwood, so they must do their "rasping" while I'm not looking lol. Mine all adore the Nutrafin sinking pellets (krill, earthworm, spirulina), as do my bichirs, frogs, cichlids, corydoras, etc (basically everyone!) They also seem to like/tolerate cucumber (which is supposed to have vitamins in it, and is mostly water so doesn't rot in the tank), lettuce (needs to be removed after a day or so), and zucchini. Hope this helps :) Mine also enjoy a treat of whatever pellets and flakes the fish don't eat (usually not much ;) )

Get a length of stainless steel wire, about 12 guage, and make a loose coil about 1 1/2" diameter. Thread the coil through the cucumber and drop it in the tank. Works like a charm.

I have a large sailfin that loves zucchini. I place a slice in a veggie clip that attaches to the side of my tank with a suction cup. I should add, if you give your pleco treats like this, be prepared to clean the strands of pleco crap that follows.

My sailfin devours zucchini...the poster above said exactly what I am going to say. He can my pack of loaches can down an entire one in one night...my gold nugget skins it for them :)

I used to tie raw spinach to a flat piece of slate and put in the tank. He would chew on that for days until it was basically a few fibrous strands left. He did not care for kale though!

Mine eat whatever I feed theother fish and didn't hav driftwood foor the better part of their lives. Clean water is all they reallocated need. Wlso these guys live forever, mine are 10 &12 years old.
