Ordered a 3-4" NGT, ended up getting shipped on the wrong day (Monday). Didn't get home from work until Wednesday morning, picked the little dude up figuring he was dead, turns out he's not. Quickly acclimated him with the drip method and got him into the tank as quick and safely as possible. Turned the lights on this morning to actually get a good look at him and he's covered in ich and is extremely skinny as well as ammonia burn on the fins ( which I expected ). He's in a 36 gallon hospital tank with a fx4 and sponge filter, I've got the temps sitting at 84*F and added salt to the tank. Should I even offer food, I'm honestly skeptical that it'll even be living by the time I finish my 14 hour shift at the hospital, but it did survive the night and is active. Should I attempt to feed it? or is there anything else you all would suggest I do other than the salt and waiting.

If you had methylene blue, I would use that as well. It will help both with any possible ammonia poisoning and the ich. It will stain anything (except glass) and kill your biological filtration.

I do have that on hand, but I try not to use it that often, The silicone is already blue from using it before, but I'd rather not kill off the the beneficial bacteria in that tank. especially since I have a leichardti coming in next month that will be going into the quarantine tank as well.

I'd do meth blue and salt , would maybe give it some shrimp/pellets (with garlic) if it eats .
As for your biological filtration I'd get some extra bio media or a sponge filter and hook it up to the main tank for it to cycle and use that during the next quarentine.

Would do as already mentioned by the others. If it has an appetite then try feeding.

I've personally gave my Datnoid a dip bath in Methylene Blue without issues. I would just use the salt and heat so that you don't have to worry about killing the beneficial bacteria.

What ratio did you use? I have a small 1 gallon container I can use.
