I am going to switch up my 28gal planted bow to a salterwater tank with the intention of clown fish. It will be my first venture into saltwater. (total noob, but willing to learn) I want to keep it a basic setup. What items do I need? Generally I order from big als, but if you have other links it would be appreciated.

Currently it has flourite substrate, I am planning on switching to aragonite sand. I like it a little better than white playsand, is there a better alternative?

I have the tank setup with a marineland c-160 canister, will this work OK for salt? Should I keep it running until the switch to salt, or scrub it clean? Does any bio transfer over from fresh to salt? Does a salt tank use a canister for bio, or just mechanical?

Do I / should I add live rock? and if so how much?

Should I add a powerhead, and if so what size?

Any point in an airstone? I have them if suggested.

What else do I need to consider besides salinity and general test kits?

Thanks!!!!

Here is a pic of the tank now:
