Hi, I'm new to this forum and fishkeeping in general. I have been recently given a 18 UK gallon (30" x 15" x 12") tank and all the necessary equipment for a tropical tank. I have a friend who is a fishkeeper (synodontisjack) and I would like to setup a tank with interesting fish as opposed to the 'general community' fish. My budget is around £60 and I would welcome some suggestions towards fish to stock, and good combinations of species.

Thanks,

James

rams are good, also, apisolgramma, and shell dwellers.
And WELCOME TO MFK!!!

tanganyikan shelldwellers are the best way to go, they provide a lot more in terms of behavior than most small fish.

:welcome: to MFK!

Lake Tanganyikan shelldwellers are very fascinating. It's either of them, a pair of rams or a trio of apistogrammas although the last two suggestions will point towards general community.:)
