hey guys pickedup a 2.5 foot cubed tnk today about 120 gallon which is proper cool and i really like it BUT on the way home in the back of the van it took a little slide i think and chipped one of the corners out. it is 10mm thick glass all round but has a double thicknes base, so a 10mm sheet siliconed on top of the 10mm botton peice the chip has only affected the bottom piece. i put a couple of jugs full of water in it which did not come through at all and have siliconed up the corner completely and am now leaving it for 24 hours or so. will this hold in your opinions?

please ay yes lol as i love the tank.

also is there anything else i can do to make sure

bump any advice would be good please guys any thoughts?

thanks bud man although you didnt answer my question at least you realised i was here lol i will get some pics up tomorro once the silicon has dried but until then anyone had any issues like this in the past and any ideas to remedy it

It not the point of answering it yet, it could be a small enough chip to deal with and be safe or it could be one that will give over time, hence why i didnt answer =p

Pics of the chip will hep us give you the best advice.

A much better test of holding water would be to put it in a shallow container and FILL it up--that creates the full pressure from all the H2O. Filling a tank just partially won't cut it--I know!!! Then leave it for at least a week, checking as much as possible. Good luck.

here they are silicone has had 30 hours drying time.

what do you think?

remember it it a double thickness base which you can see in the pics.

It's hart to tell, but as long as the chip didn't make it to the inside seal, you should be fine. I have a 55 with alot of chips in it's sides, but it's been doing fine for years. Hope that answers your question.
