advice needed. acrylic tank repair

So I went and looked at a tank on craigslist. Acrylic, it was very nice. The only thing going on was 2 small cracks on the top panel that radiated from the access panels. The tank had been repaired by gluing new pieces above and below the cracks. The owner said the tank had been like this for 3 years and that he didn't have any problems. There was no bowing anywhere and other wise the tank was exactly what I was looking for. Are these types of repairs acceptable, or am I asking for trouble if I buy this tank.

I have an acrylic tank repaired exactly the same way. A piece of scrap acrylic on both sides of the crack. 5 years no issues, I think it's stronger. lol

I say get the tank, acrylic is pretty easy to repair with some weld-on. I didn't see where Chester's advices got poo-poo on...I just think SWK wanted a little more feedback.
