Ok, I have a 125g 6ft tank which I posted on here a month ago or so. Just picked up a used Wet Dry Sump which measures 26 1/2" long by 12" wide and will fit under the tank no problem except I cannot get it thru the doors of the stand. Looking for any advice as to how I can install this without tearing down the tank. The stand is your normal pre-made Pet Store stand. I have seen some of the DIY stands which have the 2x4 frames where the 2x4's are sitting on top of the bottom 2x4 frame for better support and strength and then a 1x2 behind it to secure it to the top and bottom frame. If I dummy the supports on the back of the stand with several 2x4's resting on the bottom 2x4 frame of the stand and temporarily secure it to both the top and bottom of the stand, could I safely cut out that back support shown in pic below to fit the sump in the stand? Sorry if this sounds like a mess. Simple terms, I want to cut out the back support so I can slide the sump under the stand and then replace that back support with a 2x4 instead. Is that possible? Would any structural damage occur to make the stand unsafe? I will post this under the General section as well. Thanks for your help and patience. I will be draining most of the tank to help take away some of the weight but I would not be able to lift the tank up and drop the sump in that way.

Not sure because I cannot see the end of the stand but is it not possible to remove the end panel,if there is one, and slide it in from one end?

Joe, It is possible to remove the side since it is made the same as the back board I want to remove but I would have to cut out 3 boards vs. just the 1 back board. I am assuming that the back board is carrying less weight and removing just that one will not impact the structure of the stand. Plus when trying to repair the back vs. the side, I would have room for more error if I could not get the end panel back to its original presentation. Thanks for your quick reply..
