hi everyone i'm looking for some fish that can breed in a 20-30g tank that i could actually make some money on. i have 3 other 20's i can use to grow out and could probably get a 55 or more 20's or a 30 or two my. i'll use the money to get my +240. i was thinking about keyhole cichlids but it doesn't look like i could really profit of them. thanks for the advice.

for the most part, you're not gunna make a whole deal of money when breeding fish... there's not enough money in it (unless you have the resources to breed massive amounts, like commercial amounts) but I don't see it otherwise...

Live bearers like guppies, swordtails would do fine in 20g tanks; they are typical bread and butter type fish for many stores.

Convicts breed like rabbits but they generally are so overpopulated that they are pretty worthless for resale value and the20g tanks might be pushing it when it comes to the needs of a pair.

There seems to be money in some of the large cichlids like Red Terrors or the true festae's. But you dont have large enough tanks for that purpose.

A guy in my area breed red cherry shrimp and posts them for sale on CL all the time.

The EBJD should be able to fit nicely in a 55. A normal JD is supposed to have one to itself (75 to a breeding pair) but a EBJD is far less aggressive, so i think that a 55 should be good, but i'm not exactly sure... (just speculation)
