i should have posted in this forum to begin with but ill give you the link to general aquaria where its at. somebody mentioned baby oil so after you read you can confirm or let me know if theres something better to use.

Seems like good advice. Although you may get bubbles (dark spots) over time... I would get a 3D background or inserts... You can get a full l3D background or inserts that are more of flat 3D look that anchor with magnets...

P.S. Check out my 180gal Glass tank build. I installed a 3D background from Stuart and Talei at univeersal Rocks in TX.... It looks pretty good!
