As you might of seen from my other thread, I have mixed a silver with a green. So far they have settled fairly well, every once in a while the green will come up the side of the silver and open his mouth and warn him off with a side swipe. No real contact is made and they go their own ways.

What I was wondering, if there is any other aro community tanks, out there, and how do the aro's behave? Do they do this as well, or do they have more or less conflict?

Thanks for your help.

why don't you do a search? in the aro forum, in the photo lounge, for instance...lots of us have big, some huge, comms....

I used to have a super red and silver aro together, only minor fin nipping :) but it would heal up real quick. they got along well, my experience is asian aro seem to get along well with silver aro, though not another asian aro.

aros seem to do best alone or in 3+ communities to spread the aggression that way with two one usually takes the whole beating unless you get real lucky

Thanks for the replies. Thats very interesting what you said batang. They seem to be getting on fairly well. So I guess time will tell, as to the long term outcome.

Thanks for the advice.

This is fairly common, it seems like silvers are much wiser they recognize any aro as an aro, even afros, Asians certainly recognize jars and get funny but sometimes they are dopey with S/A's and Afro's....

I would all so add a word of warning, Greens are generally the second most aggressive aros after jar, and silvers not far behind, only having two problems may well develop you must keep a close eye on it!

even 3 can be volatile depending on tank space, 4/5+ is where the aggression starts to really get spread...

Silver is not so aggressive, yet big, so you can practically mix a silver with any other aro, even one and one. However, if you want to comm Australian or Asian aro, you should have 4+. Those aro can really fight, especially Jar and Green. Also, the smaller the tank and the bigger the crowd, the less the fight.
