Advice on feeding ..

Ok so I have 8 cichla total. Tank is divided in half. On one side I have 2 rio meta orinos an a wild caught arraguia kel they are 2.5". Eating feeders for. Now but on the other side I have a mono and a Bahia that only eat pellets won't touch anything else. And another mono an 2 bahias that only eat cut silverside an wont touch anything else I've tried shrimp krill shouldn't they all be eating. Both ? It's a pain to feed them seperately everyday I feed pellets first the. Pieces of silverside one at time for others. Any advice appreciated. They range from 4" to 5"

Just start the starving only feed one food type and if they won't eat for three days throw some of the old food in for a day and then start over. My first went from live only to Blood worms then silver sides to shrimp and now anything. Some are a little more picky but just take time.

Monkey see monkey do. Try not feeding the silversides for a couple days, hopefully they get hungry and realize that the other pbass are eating something edible (pellets) and follow. After 2 days if they don't eat pellets give them their silversides and.get them fattened and repeat. Try starving again. Eventually they'll catch on.

As for the other side....keep giving them feeders. They're too small for this starving.

I'm in the same boat. My 4" kels won't touch anythig but rosy reds. I starved for one day so far, but I definitely noticed they're getting hungry because they're coming to the front of the tank now. I'll try hold off for another day or.so

Yea other side imma wait till they grow alittle .. My goal is to get evryone on a daily diet of pellets an then hopefully give silverside or other foods once or twice a week

Yup that would be the best. But hopefully they'll catch on sooner than later. Hate pellet training lol

You have any pics of the Rio metas and Rio araguaia kelb? I take it you got them from aquascape?? Im still waiting for them to send mine out!!!

Yea if I get home early today I will take pics. The kel looks very promising speckles early I hand picked the best ones in person lol !

Good to hear!! Lucky you I get whatever they grab me haha. I havent gotten them yet because they said they came down with ick. So they are waiting to ship them out! Are the Rio metas actually orinos?

From what I know they are we will see what they look like wen they grow. Glad I got mine when they first got em before the ich
