Hey all, posted this on another site I use thats more about tech, but figured maybe some of you guys could help me :D Hope this is the right place to post.

Just wondering if my idea would work, I have a 3 door garage I plan to heat with a 3kw r/c unit to heat my fish tanks up. the issue is its a 80 year + garage and has no insulation at all. the room has to stay at 26-28 C most the time to heat the fish tanks, we have a large amount and running fish tanks heaters is costing to much, after talking to many aquariums seems this is how they all heat there tanks when the maths is done running 25+ 300W heats vsing 3kw its cheaper using a r/c.

I have decided on EPS(stryofoam 25mm) for the roof, Leave the double brick walls as is, I believe they can hold the heat just fine maybe a thick paint coat just to top it up.

The issue is I have roller doors, we dont use the garage for cars so they are not required but would like to keep the room open if we can for summer and to get big fish tanks in and out. So I am thinking some roller shutters might work fine, they say they hold heat, they open and can be painted to look great, theres no leaks in the units.

But I am unsure how well they would hold heat without a window? there seems to be no info on this at all. My bonus idea was to use thick curtains, I know they do great jobs at holding heat but again, it all came down too windows.

So what I am asking is, would roller shutters alone work? would they work much better with curtains? Is the difference going to be much higher using a glass door?

Any advice would be great. Thanks all
