My 6x2x2 will turn up next week and i need to know how a Jardini is likely to react to my fish.

Stock will be:

Fire eel 15" at least lol

Thinbar Datnoid 5"

Red Finned Giant Gourami 4"

The Jardini will be added at around 3-4", i already own the top 2 Fish and the Gouramis turning up this week theyre ion a 300 ltr corner tank.

I will also be adding an RTC in the middle of next year to give these guys some growing time, i own an 8x4x2 so future housing isnt an issue.

I know that Jardinis are occasionally super aggresive but will one really be able to do anything to a big Gourami or the Catfish?

A jar can do plenty of damage to any fish. Plus, a tank where all of the fish are beat up and hiding while one fish tries to kill everything kind of sucks. Go with a black aro, lei, anything but Jar if you like the other fish.

For the most part Jardinis don't turn psycho until around the 12"-15" mark. However, it greatly depends on the personality of the jar. I would be more worried about the GG being aggressive tword the tank mates(they become grumpy as they get older). It should be fine but keep an eye on them.

Good luck,
Chris

I really wanted to avoid the Larger Arowanas i live in the UK though so i can get Asians.

The reason i want to avoid the big Aros but will keep probably a bigger catfish is that my pal owns a huge pond and he keeps Catfish, but not Arowanas, he got a huge Silver and it jumped. And will not lower the water level to allow for this.

Basically if my Catfish outgrows my tank he will take it and i know the Fish will be fine.

Maybe ill get an Asian.

Thanks Chris.

But i think an Asian would be safer.

I just really love the Black and Red that you get on some of these Jardinis!
