Soon ill be moving house, not to far just 10mins down the road.

I need to move my 6x2x2 tank and its occupants in a timely manner without stressing the fish to much.

I have on hand the following items to make the move smoother:

- 400L drum
- 3400L pump
- Spare 400L tank at new location
- Portable air pump / Main air pumps
- Large nets
- Spare heaters
- Buckets and large containers
- Chlorine remover
- Aquarium salt
- API Master test kit

Occupants in tank

- 2 x Red Tail Giant Gourami (20cm)
- 1 x Green Arowana (35cm)
- 5 x Kigoma Frontosa (12cm)
- 15 x Geo Altifron (5cm)
- 2 x Blood parrots (12cm)
- 1 x King Kong (15cm)
- 5 x Flag Tail Prod (12cm)

Do you guys think i am missing anything for my move? Im not going to write up all the procedures for each item. I am guessing most of you guys know a thing or two about caring for fish.

For those that have moved a large tank and many fish before. Can you give me some pointers and tips that was useful.

What i am trying to achieve is 0 mortality. If i can achieve this, i'd think ill be fully sick.

Thanks! :naughty:

take as much water with you as you can. put the fish and all filter media in your tank water while moving. drain tank, move tank. fill tank back up with old water, top off with new water. set up filters, get tank running. acclimate fish and dump em in.

its rather simple but still nerve racking. we moved my 180 and 75 about 10 minutes down the road a while back, the fish were still in totes for close to 3 hours but no problems at all.

Coolers make good fish transports.

Yeh I used a few big coolers and some battery operated air pumps. Cooler is good cos it's nice and dark with the lid closed and keeps a stable temp. Also have some prime handy.
