So I took the idea from Joey on YouTube, pieced everything together and changed some things or assembly. My question is distance and power. I was going to start with 3 pendants, the two outter ones being 90w equivalent and the center being or 150w. I can go up to a 250w and have the options on the bulb to change from a 25 degree beam to a 40 degree. These are par38 LED floods either 4k or 5k likely the latter. So with the beam adjustable, and height adjustable, my only concern is how wide should I make the light for an 86” pond and what size bulb combo. Here is a video I made of me doing my first try at one so excuse the fumbling and I can’t help the mess currently I’m sorry.

I think the 40s would be better, I would want an even more diffuse beam, flood lights really. 25 will be like a spotlight from a few feet away.

Any way to install a dimmer switch on this setup? I think those are gonna be hella bright. What sort of tank/pond is this gonna be?

At 86" I think 3 of those lights would be more than adequate. You could probably get away with two.

I would also suggest perhaps mounting the lights so that you can adjust the angle if you can.

Oh dang I didn't see your reply there. 60" is probably perfect. Nice work. This type of lighting project has been on my docket for quite some time so I'm definitely interested in seeing the final product.

Started with with rough cut lumber. With the wood and everything in under 85 for materials. Without the wood and moonlights etc 9 bucks each ready to plug in with dimmer. Can add a moonlight for like 10 bucks

What I see is great! I love it! I am very ignorant where it comes to electrical devices, and hence I don’t feel brave enough. But I love what you have done, and the quality of light (color and intensity) you have achieved. Thanks for sharing!!

It’s very easy to do. Literally 3-5 minutes of reading and a multi meter. You’re good to go
