I have a 90 gallon tank that I want to paint the bottom of but the frame is in the way. Has anyone ever removed the bottom frame from an aquarium for this purpose? Any advice as to how I should go about it or if I should even attempt it?

Thanks

Hello; Removing the bottom frame seems likely to lead to problems. The first that comes to mind is the chance to break the glass. It also seems that the process may affect seals and lead to leaks. The bottom frame is likely to be somewhat needed to give the tank a structure to sit on and to protect the edges of the glass.
That said we each get to run our tanks any way we want. If you decide to do this, please keep us posted on the process and the outcome. Perhaps with pictures?
