i have the oportunity to get my hands in a group of wc rotkeil but i have a 55 gal tank.. i just want one pair of them. should they be fine in there? todays its my first day on info quest about them. what do you think..?
if so what other tankmates should i add? i was thinking on some blue rams and maybe apistos? maybe a small school of tetra neons?
as far as rea they arent a very agresivee cichlid am i right?
by the way im new to american cichlids i have kept only africans in the past

can some one advice me please

A 55gal would last a good while. As for aggression, they get really steamed in a confide area. Adding tank mates will be on trial and error for a breeding pair.

Blue rams and apistos are rather sensitive to water conditions, I doubt they would last very long without very frequent WC's. Severums get large and even just a pair is going to produce a lot of waste to keep up with in a small tank like a 55g. Heat range is different as well, 84+ degree especially for the rams.

If it's going to be a pair no other cichlids. Yes like it was already said a school of good size tetras and maybe some Cory cats or other bottom feeders.

Ive got a 55 gallon tank and put 6 zebra danios in with my rotkeils. They are good dither fish and fast enough to stay out the way of the rotkeils.
